Suggestions

  • Regularly removing spent flowers, known as deadheading will promote continuous blooming and encourage the growth of fresh buds.

  • Harvest flowers for indoor arrangements when they are about 1/4 open. The color should be visible at the top, but no petals should have unfurled yet. Do not worry if you cut them at this stage, they will continue to open. When cutting, make sure to cut deeply. For the first harvest from the plant, cut down to where there are only 3-4 sets of leaves remaining. This will cause the plant to grow longer stems and more of them. Afterward, cut back to the main stem.

  • Blooms can last as long as 2 weeks in floral arrangements.
